Edana Chattan senses concerns where people she knows could be in danger. When her brothers warn her they're in trouble, she can't convince her father to listen to her, so with an escort, she tries to locate them. Separated from her escort during a storm, she is discovered by Angus MacNeill, who is tasked to return her home.

Only Edana has other notions--and convinces him and his companions to allow her to use her abilities to locate her brothers who are manacled in a dungeon somewhere. That leads to a faux marriage and more dungeons and more trouble than Angus had ever thought possible. So why is the bewitching, fiery-haired lass making him think of marrying her for real?

Taming the Wild Highlander The Highlanders Book 4 edition by Terry Spear Romance eBooks

"Taming the Highlander" is difficult to rate. Overall, it is well written, but there were some aspects that I disliked.

Writing mechanics were good; I didn't notice any mistakes in grammar, spelling, sentence structure, etc. The characters were likeable, the plot was interesting, and there was a definite HEA and conclusion, as one expects in a romance.

There were a few anachronisms that I found distracting. The only one I remember is the word "darnedest", which would not have been in use in the period in which the story was set. The anachronisms would probably not bother most readers and I didn't notice a lot of them.

I felt there were a few places where the story dragged a little, and the dialogue occasionally was a bit dull, but it wasn't a serious problem. Most of the time the story flowed well and the dialogue was good.

The most serious flaw was that there was too much sex, and I felt it slowed the action. There were too many sex scenes, with too many pages devoted to each scene. Don't misunderstand; this book was not erotica pretending to be an historical romance. It was simply an historical romance with more sex than I like in my romances. The sex was tastefully done, but I felt it slowed the action and it became boring.

I debated whether or not to give the book three stars, which would be my first choice because I disliked the amount of sex written into the story. However, sex in books is a very subjective issue. Some people want no sex in books, and some would want considerably more than is found in this book. This book was well written, though, and I didn't feel it would be fair to give it a lower rating for something most readers would probably view as a plus. In the end, I gave it four stars.

Readers who want a sweet, "clean" romance would do well to avoid this book. Readers who prefer a lot of VERY hot sex, would likewise do well to avoid this book. Readers who want a fairly well written, almost traditional historical romance, with some mild, but graphic sex scenes would probably enjoy "Taming the Wild Highlander." It isn't a book that will keep you up all night, but it is one that will provide several hours of enjoyable reading.

Taming the Wild Highlander The Highlanders Book 4 edition by Terry Spear Romance eBooks Reviews

Let me say that I would've read this book no matter what because I have enjoyed the series very much. All 3 of the previous books are in my favourite folder, which is pretty exclusive. This book was very sweet but it just isn't up to the same standard as the others. Let me summarise quickly

Our h is 'fae' in that she hears those close to her communicating with her when they are not with her. In this case she 'hears' her brothers, who have been captured on the way to visit another clan. She tries to speak to her father but he won't listen so she decides to go off on her own with just a few trusted guards to accompany her. She gets separated from them and is found by our H, who has been requested by James, his brother and the H from The Accidental Highland Hero, to find the h. The H had met the h 8 years before and had been intrigued by her but never made the effort to get to know her. This time around she manages to persuade him to help her rescue her brothers. Along the way they get married and have a number of adventures.

**Spoilers**
What I liked Once again the H and h fall in love quickly with no misunderstandings etc. They get married before becoming intimate and they are adorable together.
What I didn't like The pseudo attempt at bondage at the end of the book. It was completely unnecessary, unrealistic and lowered the tone of the book. Can I say that it was 'sweetly' done, which kind of made the whole thing redundant. Why do authors insist on following stupid trends that not all readers are interested in? It wasn't in keeping with the tone of the book, so why bother?

Anyway for those of you who love the series, this book is still worth reading.
This is the first book I have read by this author, but I will say with a promise that it will not be the last. I realize I started the series from the end but the book did well in standing on its own. It only made me want to go back to the beginning and begin the first one.

The hero and heroine were perfect for each other. A touch of paranormal filled with intrigue and romance with feeling and emotions. Humor, passion, romance, and suspense all in one book.

The heroine is a strong take charge person in a time when this was an oddity. Add to that her special gifts and a neighboring clan who thinks they must stop her to protect her and you have a very interesting adventure.

The hero meets the heroine when they are children but she really never leaves his mind, although he doesn't like to admit to it. He is a strong and perfect match for her character.

The adventure begins early and continues throughout with the couple having to pretend to be man and wife, which says enough within itself. Add to the adventure humor, steamy passion, humor and romance and you have a satisfying read. I didn't want the book to end and I really look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Although I read this book first there was no confusion within the story from not reading the others in the series first. But it without a doubt made me add the others to the top of my to be read list. This is one author that will be added to my favorites list.
